A proud member of

Transitions

At Lee Brigg Infant & Nursery School we place great emphasis on our responsibility to ensure successful transition for all – whether this be for pupils new to our school family, for those transitioning within our school, or for those moving on from our school.

Smooth transitions support personal, social & emotional development, learning and future success of every child.

Transitions are not overlooked or left to chance; good transition takes careful thought and thorough planning well in advance. All staff are aware of the systems that are currently in place and build their review into the schools on-going Self Evaluation Plan (SEP).

Good transition practice uses knowledge of the child’s experiences within their family, encourages good relationships with parents and carers and offers support for continued learning at home.

It has been our experience that transitions are of the highest quality when they are organised around the needs of the child.

We have created a transition page specific to each cohort within our school:

Pupils New To Nursery
Pupils New To Reception
Pupils New To Year 1
Pupils New To Year 2

Transitioning from Year 2 to Junior School

If you have any specific questions in regards to transitions at Lee Brigg Infant & Nursery School then please contact our school office in the first instance.

Kind Regards,
Mrs Clare Holloway
Executive Headteacher
