On behalf of all the wonderful children, staff and governors at Lee Brigg Infant & Nursery School, I would like to thank you for visiting our school website.
If your child is new to our school, we warmly welcome you and look forward to building a successful home–school partnership. If your child already attends Lee Brigg, we will continue to strengthen the links we have established with you by providing the very best education possible. And if you are simply passing by, you are very welcome—I hope you enjoy exploring the very best of LBI!
Being an Executive Headteacher is, without doubt, the best job in the world. I was privileged to be given the opportunity to lead and serve this wonderful school, alongside Miss Kilkenny (our Head of School), from September 2025—and I have never looked back.
Our school is a truly special place where children are loved, cherished and nurtured. It is a vibrant, joyful environment where children feel safe, happy and confident, and where they develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning. As part of the Waterton Academy Trust family since 2015, we are supported by a fantastic organisation that shares our values. Since joining the trust, our children have benefitted from a wealth of opportunities, and our staff continue to access exceptional CPD and professional networks.
My priority as Executive Headteacher, alongside Miss Kilkenny, is to ensure that Lee Brigg continues to shine as a beacon of excellence within Waterton Academy Trust and the local community. We are relentless in making the improvements and developments that ensure success is shared by all. While academic achievement is vital, our ambition goes far beyond this—we want our children to become model citizens of Normanton, ready for life in modern Britain, and well prepared for their KS2 journey at junior school.
Our curriculum is one of our greatest strengths. It is rich, ambitious, personalised and truly designed around the needs of our children, whatever their starting points. Please do visit the curriculum section of our website to find out more.
I am a passionate believer in the power of partnership with parents. When school is a positive and rewarding place for your child, it is because home and school are working together. Achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand, and we hold high expectations in every area of school life—only the best is good enough for the children of Lee Brigg. My staff share this commitment and work tirelessly to meet the needs of every learner.
As a parent myself, I fully recognise the trust you place in us each day. I am absolutely resolute in ensuring that the highest standards of teaching and learning are evident in every classroom, and that all our children receive a consistently good or better education.
Our staff and Academy Standards Committee sincerely appreciate the support we receive from parents and the wider community. It is this partnership that enables our children to thrive.
Lee Brigg is a fast-paced, forward-thinking school with an exceptionally supportive and outward-facing leadership team, strengthened further by an innovative and aspirational Trust. We hope our website gives you a true flavour of this.
