From September 2014 all pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state funded schools in England are eligible for free school meals (known as UIFSM).
91% children at Lee Brigg Infant School eat a hot school meal every day.
Our school meals are provided by Engie.
Please see our school newsletters for the weekly menu or visit the Feeding Hungry Minds website.
School meals are high on the curriculum agenda and we do a great deal of work in school to encourage children to lead healthy lifestyles and make healthy food choices. We are confident that our healthy school meals promote good choices to children.
Each morning during registration, children select their meal choice from the menu. Choices are recorded and lunches are cooked to order. We encourage parents to review the options available daily with your children using the menu board in the school playground. Termly menus are provided to parents and carers, please contact the school office should you require a copy.
Parents and carers may still choose to provide a packed lunch if they do not wish their child to eat a free school meal. We ask that parents and carers give their full support and ensure that pupil lunchboxes reflect healthy choices. Fizzy pop, sweets, chocolate bars and fruit cordials (drinks) are not permitted. Please could we ask parents and carers to be mindful – we are a nut free school
